Requirements:
Completion of the CST2 course,
Finely tuned palpation of the craniosacral rhythm.
nside the cranium, the brain contains trillions of star-shaped cells. These brain "stars" belong to a family of cells known as glial cells. Glial cells play a key role in regulating the development, structure, and function of the nervous system. They are involved in all aspects of health and pathology of the nervous system. Glia and neurons together create our inner universe of sensations, perceptions, memories, and actions. By reaching inward, we can gently "touch" it.
How do CranioSacral Therapy techniques reach deep into the brain or spinal cord?
Is there a biomechanical pathway through which the corrective techniques of CST are transmitted from the therapist's hands into the central nervous system?
If so, which cells create this pathway, what do they do, and how do they support the treatment and functioning of the CNS?
The answers to these questions lie in the glial cells.
The craniosacral system connects directly to the matrix of glial cells in the brain and spinal cord. This connection provides a powerful pathway through which you can utilize glial techniques in CranioSacral Therapy to enhance the structure, functioning, healing, and health of the nervous system.
Course elements:
- types and functions of glial cells,
- exploring how glial cells create a therapeutic connection from the external to the internal parts of the Central Nervous System,
- the role of glial cells in the production of cerebrospinal fluid and the regulation of its flow,
- how glial cells support the healing of the CNS,
- normalization of the nervous system through CST glial techniques,
- working with glial techniques in cases of central nervous system dysfunctions, such as autism spectrum disorders, cognitive dysfunctions, traumatic brain injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, chronic pain, spinal cord injuries, anxiety disorders, neuropathies,
- developing and refining palpation and therapeutic skills.
